Headquartered in Laredo, Texas and established in 1987, Taco Palenque was founded by Juan Francisco Ochoa from Sinaloa, Mexico. Juan Francisco Ochoa and Don Chicho also opened several Pollo Loco franchises in Mexico in the late 1970’s and the United States in the 1980’s. In 1985, Juan Francisco moved to Monterrey where he planned to create a Mexican fast food chain in the United States. In 1987, his plans came true when he opened his first Taco Palenque in Laredo, Texas. The chain has now expanded to McAllen in 1998, Brownsville in 2001, San Antonio in 2007, and soon Nuevo Laredo, Mexico in 2008. Take a look at the menu online.
